Field missing in Validation Settings

Hi all,

I'm trying to make a field mandatory based on the value of another field using Validation Settings. However, the [Status] field that I have in my list for some reason does not appear in the list of fields under Validation settings as shown below (Please see formula):

The reason I think that might be a problem is because when I apply this formula I receive this:

Here are the list of fields I have in my list:

and here are the field settings for [Status]:

Does anyone have an idea on what might be the issue?
