Excel Trusted Locations and OneDrive/SharePoint
Hello,
We are using the trusted location fix so users can use download our Excel macros to their OneDrive folder.
However, the trusted location often does not work - Excel thinks the file is being opened from the SharePoint link rather than OneDrive. (This often happens only the first time the Excel file is opened.)
As an example, both these links "point" to the same trusted folder. But they are not the same according to Excel trusted location:
- https://XXXXX-my.sharepoint.com/personal/XXXXX/Documents/OneDrive Trusted/...
- C:\Users\XXXXX\OneDrive - XXXXX\OneDrive Trusted\...
Is there anyway to force Excel/SharePoint to always open the file using OneDrive?

ldmiller42 Hello, have you discovered a solution for this issue? I am facing a similar requirement and would appreciate any insights or suggestions you might have.
bassemShaker We are still working with Microsoft support (which has been very slow).
As a temporary solution, you can make BOTH the OneDrive/SharePoint links Trusted Locations in Excel.
OneDrive is straightforward (file browser). But we had to type the link for SharePoint (https) by hand. The link has to be exact or macros will not work.
