Events Web Part/List

As we start leveraging more modern sites we have customers asking questions around the Events web part.  They like the nice UI through the web part and the ability to download the planned event as an iCalendar file they can save in Outlook.  The main ask we keep hearing is the ability to track the name of the user who would be attending the event.  The events web part looks to be tied to a calendar list and if we wanted we could have the attendee column in being part of the form (using the classic view), something we were looking to see if maybe that could be a path to capture users who will attend the event.  However, even if we add new columns those do not seen to be surfaced on the new modern UI.  Was looking for ideas/thoughts on how we could capture attendee details through the modern UI as part of the Events web part.  Thanks!

  • Basically forget any idea of trying to customize the WebPart...you would need to create your custom events solution built with SPFx

      Thank you for the response. Its really a shame that columns that we can enable for the Events (calendar list) cannot be surfaced as new fields on the new modern UI for the Event List.
