Error when creating a calendar overlay: "Unable to find lists with calendar view..."
I have a classic calendar on my Sharepoint Online site, and when I try to create a calendar overlay, this error comes up when I try to "Resolve" the site and find my calendar: "Unable to find lists with calendar view in the specified web."
Any idea why this might be? Only using classic calendars.
Thank you
- Fixed it, had to FIRST make a net new view with a type of Calendar, and then the Overlay was able to pick this up and set it. I was confused to this whole system, because the error said that I do not have ANY Lists with the calendar type, which is not true as my base list I'm working with IS ALREADY A CALENDAR. Very annoying...

- WueNetCopper ContributorI ran into the same problem, but unfortunately, I do not know what you mean with "FIRST make a net new view with a type of Calenda", could you elaborate? I am new to SharePoint it would help a lot! Thanks 🙂

Hi WueNet! I faced the same problem, but here's what worked for me based on the s4csurrey`s suggestion:
- Go to your list and access List Settings (instead of creating a calendar directly from the main interface).
- Scroll to the bottom and select Create View.
- Choose Calendar View and set it up from there.
After doing this, the calendar became visible in the Calendar Overlay settings.
Hope this helps!
