Enforcing Standard Themes - SharePoint Online/Office 365 Groups (Modern & Classic)

Hi There,

Been looking around for a while and can't seem to find the information I need about locking down the default theme for SharePoint Online. We would like to ensure our clients can only use 1 color scheme.

Thanks!

  • You can lock down the Suite bar colour scheme in the Office 365 Organisation profile admin screen.
For SharePoint Sites, you can create your company themes and add these to SharePoint through PowerShell and CSOM and disable the out of the box themes.
If you want all new sites to have the same theme then use a Site Design definition with a reference to use your company theme and set this as the default design so when users create a Team Site it will use your default design. This Site Design feature is only in targeted release tenants at the moment but you can prepare for this in a trial tenant and roll out when its available
