I think comments support in lists is only available in SharePoint Online, but not in SharePoint 2019
I am suffering with this exact same issue. I have a couple of lists within the same sharepoint site, but only one specific list is having this issue. Please tell us what to do, really need some assistance urgently as this is the most commonly used list within our organization. We have more than 6 years of data, so building a new list is not an option for us. All help is appreciated, thank you.
