Enable 'Edit in Grid View' without Quick Edit/Details Pane

I need to configure a Document Library with 'Edit in Grid View' but do not want editing ability from Details. I want the custom form to be the generally used item edit screen, and the grid view for bulk edits. I do not want users editing in the Details pane.

If I switch this to No, then it removes 'Edit in Grid View'

Is there any way I can achieve this requirement?
