Durable links makes adding background image location in promoted links lists a hassle.

I can no longer go to an image library, copy a link, go to a promoted links list and paste the url in the "background image location" field. It will not work because of durable links. 

I now have to copy the path of the image library, paste it in notepad, and replace "/forms/viewname.aspx" with the image file name to actually get a link that works. This is a paintpoint for users. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
