Document Library View Based On Permissions

Hi Guys,

I'm wondering if anyone can help here.

We have 8 document libraries  in our site which all have unique permissions.

For site users with limited access, the top navigation links only show document libraries they have access to which is good.

We have a page that shows all our document libraries. How do I restrict  the quick links to only show document libraries that the user logged in has access to?  If I can't use quick links to do this, is there any other web parts that can limit the view?

Thanks in advance for anyones help.

Nick

  • Your only option is really highlighted content web part but that won't show libraries only individual documents they have access too. You could also maybe look at creating a library of links, giving individual permissions to those links then using a highlighted web part to scope to just that library to list out the links to the libraries and because it's based on search those links will be filtered based on permissions.

        Hi Chris,

        Your method has worked thanks!

The only thing I cant work out is how to remove the edits by/profile pic on each link., The view has all that disabled but it is still showing up. Any ideas how to get rid of it?

        Thanks,

        Nick
