The only thing I cant work out is how to remove the edits by/profile pic on each link., The view has all that disabled but it is still showing up. Any ideas how to get rid of it?

- yeah like Juan said not much can be done there with customization. You might need to go look at using a custom spfx webpart that pull in content via search index so you can get the trimming.

Unfortunately you cannot remove that information from the WebPart.
