Document ID Service

One of my clients has SharePoint sites with the Document ID Service feature enabled. Something must have gone wrong in the past as some documents don't have a Document ID set.

 

I've stopped and started the feature and on this site new documents now get the Document IDs set. Is there any way to trigger the handout of Document IDs to existing documents that don't have an ID set?
