display specific data from contact list depending on user search input
Hello everybody,
i'm quite new to SharePoint and looking for a way to solve my Problem:
We have a Contact List for different applications. Each of the applications has several components (each component has a separate contact Person). Some applications have some of the same components.
Now i want a search box where the users can search for an application name and get .all of the application belonging components and their corresponding contacts as result. I don't want to Show the filtered entries in the contact list itself, i'd like to Show the results in a separate Webpart.
My first Problem here is that some applications share the same components, so i guess i have to create 2 lists in the beginning (one for the applications and one for the components) to link the components to multiple applications?
Second Thing is to Show the results in a separate Webpart. There are several search Webparts, which one fits the most here?
I would really appreciate any Kind of help!
Thanks in advance

- DeletedThis is a pretty good article that talks about web part connections which is what you can use to connect a search / selection webpart to pass data to your data to do the filtering.
