Discussion Forum in "New Experience"
Hi,
So this has probably been mentioned in some form or another and in a variety of ways, mostly the answers to this I'm guess would be "Use Teams".
I have an established discussion board which is used widely but obviously making the migration to all of our site pages to the "New Experience, using Teams is an option but I'd like to use a single discussion board just like the web part as it does the job we need it to-do.
Are there any options for this? anyway to add the old web part in the New Experience? as if this was possible it would be perfect for our needs, rather than trying to incorporate Teams into the equation, as Teams does what it says on the tin and not what we really require from our established discussion board.
Any help, tips or hints on this would be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards
- Icky on that discussion board :P. But anyway, you still have access to classic lists in SharePoint Online. You can't use it on a modern page but you can easily still link to the discussion list and use it as you did previously, at least for awhile longer. You're eventually going to want to look at moving away from it, but there is nothing stopping you from using the current one online now.
- My two cents here:
(1) You could use Yammer and the Yammer WebPart in this scenario
(2) You can always look if there is a free SPFx WebPart in GitHub that meet your requirements- PerfPCCopper Contributor
Thanks for the replies folks... I'll take a look at all the options you mentioned.
