Disabling SharePoint Online Plan with PowerShell failing

Question

We noticed, that some days ago disabling SharePoint Online Plan with PowerShell will always fail for some customers tenants. We go standard scripts like in Disable access to services with Office 365 PowerShell. Other services can be disabled normally. Someone in the same situation?

Hello Pieter, when we create licence options object (variable) where Disabled Plans is an option for SharePoint and then run Set-MsolUserLicense we just get a generic error "Set-MsolUserLicense: Unable to assign this license.". When we create the same with different plans except for SharePoint, it works fine.

Yes, this is not the case. The same script does not fail in other tenants. Only in some. We temporary make the changes from Office 365 Admin Center with the bulk edit.
