Disable File/folder download/move to desktop from sharepoint team site

Hello - Is it possible to disable moving of files/folders located in a sharepoint team site (This would include the web version and a synced team site that displays in Windows 10) to the desktop of the user?

 

Could IRM? Conditional policy? accomplish this

 

Thanks for any assistance/advice in advance!

    Hi goblue86,

     

    You can turn off downloading using the "Offline Client Availability" Document Library setting.

    The only way I know to stop copy to / move to is by restricting permissions.

      Thanks a lot for your response Norman. I attempted the method you just mentioned but it also disables syncing sites to Windows 10.. 😞 .. Per screenshot below sync button becomes greyed out.

       

       

      I will delve deeper into permissions per your advice.. thanks again!
