Different news
Is it possible to have 2 kind of news posts? One that shows up in the hub and one that is just for the site? If the answer is no, is there another (pretty) way to show messages for the local site...
We want some local news just on the site and some news showing on up on the hub
Add a custom column to the Site Pages library with a choice column, then tag different news articles with different choices. On the hub site, set the filter on News Web part to get the pages with the desired tags.
- You can’t use filters cross site on news like that. Metadata tagging only works for same site news.
Only way you can use the built in news part and filter some but not others would be set permissions on the news pages. Then those articles will only show on the hub to the people that have access to the articles. But other than that you are limited to just filtering the entire site out of the hub which is the “source” setting on the webpart not filter. - I can't see that the news webpart have a filterfunction at all?
You can use the highlighted content web part for filtering.
I know, but I don't like the look of the webpart
