Different news webpart content on 1 site collection
Create 3 Team Sites
Define one of these as a Hub Site (for your Main Navigation)
Associate your other two Team Sites (Sub Departments) with your Hub Site (Department) from the Site Information PanelThe Navigation from your Department Site will automatically also on your other two Sub Department Sites.
Change the to the sites and choose the News Content in the News Webparts as you want.
I was also thinking at option 1 but:
- I have the left bar an a regular subsite (not on the main communication site)
- Not the top navigation as on the main communication site
