Default view in SharePoint list not working

I have created a view in a SharePoint list, which I would like to be default view when users open the list.

I have have selected the option ‘Set current view as default’, and it also looks correct in the View Settings.

However, when I or any other user opens the list, the ‘All items’ view is displayed, and the users has to actively select the Default view.

How do I fix this?

how are you and the users opening the list? Are you navigating to it via a shortcut or quicklaunch navigation item? If you enter the URL for it directly, e.g. ending something like /sites/siteA/lists/List1 - what do you see?

(I'm wondering if the navigation or link you are using has the old view 'hard coded' in it)

      Super, thank you.

I went to edit links at the bottom of the quick navigation copied the 'Documents' url and pasted it into a new link, and by removing the /Forms/AllItems.aspx text the link navigates to the view that I have set as default (alphabetical) rather than the 'All Documents' view.

      Thanks for the tip :)

That was exactly the problem - the link was for 'all items'.
