Date format setting for SharePoint Online site
About a month ago all date fields in lists and document libraries changed from “YYYY-MM-DD” to US format. The format used to be defined magically by the sites regional settings, locale. Today, changing the locale for a site no longer is linked to the date format and the number format either. I raised a ticket with MSFT and nothing transpired. Has anyone discovered / solved this issue? I need “YYYY-MM-DD” and currency values displayed as ¥12,345.67
displaying dates in the correct format is easy, but data entry shouldn’t be in US date format MM/DD/YY. Accountants get confused.

My post earned only 400 views and 1 Like. Either no one else has this issue or the solution is too stupid simple to get anyone interested to help. What is it? Am I the only one that doesn't like the US date format?

It feels strange that this issue isn’t resolved. I twice opened a ticket with msft and they were closed without a solution given.
