Date column automatically formats to US date when manually inputted

Hi guys, 

One of our lists has dates that act as triggers for automated emails, so it's important that they are formatted correctly. All manually inputted date auto format to the American date format, so 01/02 appears as January second, not Feb first. I've changed the regional settings on the site, and on the tenant in general and am still having this issue.

Any help at all is welcome
