Custom field or tag for the site itself

Hi all,

I am wanting to assign some metadata (or custom field) to each subsite in a site collection. For example, I might want to store a field called "Account Manager" or similar and attach that to "Subsite A" - not a list or document but the site itself.

Is this possible? Is there any other way of achieving this?
