Created By Displaying User Name then Goes blank - for some users

Is anyone else having issues with the created by field in SharePoint Lists? When viewing a large list some usernames appear then after a second or two they disappear - VERY disconcerting!

This is happening with the new list view where the headers stay at the top of the page.

Or has my (very important list got corrupted!!)
