Create Communications Sites option is gone?
I used to see "Create Communication Site" when clicking the plus sign on OneDrive. It was a page that said create a Team Site or Communication site.
It now just says "Get a team site with Offi...
Click the plus sign on the SharePoint page: then you can choose between Team Site and Communication Site.

- I don't have that turned on. I am assuming this the "Create Site" link that is controlled in SharePoint Admin Center under "Site Creation".
Is this the only way to create a Communications site?AFAIK, yes (at least in the UI).
You can also do it with REST or PnP.
