Create a datasheet view for a discussion list
I've had a go at creating a datasheet view in SPD but it's not working for a discussion list. Has anyone managed to make this work? I'm trying to import posts and replies from a SQL forum into the discussion.
Plan B is to use a workflow. So... extract CSV from SQL, create a temporary list from the CSV, create a workflow to create posts and replies in the discussion as I populate the temp list. It's working for the posts but updating the replies is proving to be a bit more problematic.
Any advice on either approach would be appreciated. Thanks!
- Well, bearing in mind that Survely list are not "normal" lists I could expect you don't have the datasheet view feature there so you have (as you have done) to look for workarounds to overcome with this limitation
