Convert Classic to Modern with O365 group - Hub navigation?

Hi, I have a number of site collections that are still running in classic experience. They use Managed Metadata Navigation, which is a pain to keep up for different site collections.

 

If I turn each of these site collections into an O365 group, can these sites then be joined to a Hub and use the Hub navigation? 

 

Please don't send me to read articles about general info for converting sites. I've read them. I haven't found the answer to this specific question.

    Hi IngeborgHawighorst ,

    If you want to use the hub navigation on your site, then your page (not site) has to be in modern experience. This means

    • If you have a communication site without a O365, then you can join a hub.
    • If you have a team site with a with a group, then you can join a hub.
    • If you have a team site without a group, then you can join a hub.
    • If you have a classical site, then you can also join a hub (But only through the admin center and only if you switch i.e. some document libraries to modern experience)

    So i think that you can use the hub navigation if you upgrade a site collection from classical to modern... as long as you use modern pages.
