Connecting on premise SQL to sharepoint online

Hello,

 

I want to display data from on premise SQL express table to sharepoint online list. What is the best way i can achieve the things,

1) on premise Data gateway  

2) BCS

 

Which on will suitable for me.

    If you want to integrate in your SPO sites as a list, your only choice is BCS...but you might find problems because BCS has not been improved by Microsoft for the last few years

      is that possible to use on premises data gateway for my case. If,  yes how could i start.

      Any alternate solution there?
