Connect to external data sources from SharePoint online

Hi,

I am working on extracting data from on premises data sources to SharePoint online. How can I do the import export of my on premises BCS application to SharePoint online. I may not be able to use the Hybrid mode.

Kindly advise which approach should I use to connect to the data sources.
