Conditional formula on fields causing form to open in classic experience

I've added conditional formulas to two fields that I don't want users to see on newform.aspx. This works fine when you click the New button from the list. But when I copy the newform link, and add it to a forms directory page (using quick links web part), the link now opens newform.aspx in classic experience, and the unwanted fields are displayed. Please advise, thanks.
