Column issue-Sharepoint homepage in Teams

I have recently created a homepage via Sharepoint to create a landing page in MS Teams. My sharepoint content is working in MS teams, but the columns (when viewed in Sharepoint) are 2 columns, as I want. When viewed in MS teams, all the content changes to full-width columns. Why are the 2 columns not displaying in MS teams?
