Classic Team sites and the Send by Email button on all modern pages

Question

Whilst I really like the new communications site template, it seems that the features of the news pages have leaked into classic team sites. This means that modern pages that I create in classic team sites all have the 'Send by Email' button. This makes no sense in the context of a classic site. I really want to use modern pages, but this is a significant impediment.

Is there any current way to disable it or any plans to allow this?

I believe the functionality is on the Page Template rather than on the Site Template, therefore creating a Modern Page will give you the 'Send by Email' regardless of the site template used.  My tenant behaves in the same way to yours.

Totally agree with Tanya here...this is a feature of modern pages, so if you are using in your classic sites, then you also have this feature there

I think Tanya is right on this one. send by email will popup everywhere where there is a modern library pages. It is specific made for modern pages but as long as you have classic they will show up
