Choice Column - First letter suggestions

Does first letter suggestion work for choice columns in sharepoint online list/library with the modern forms ? e.g. typing "a" takes you directly to a choice "agenda" in the dropdown

It works for me in 1 out of 4 libraries, so not sure if it is a bug ?

Appreciate your time and response.

In Choice columns configured (by default) to render as Drop Down being able to type depends on whether you've configured the column to allow "Fill in choices" (allowing users to add new options to the list of choices). I think this could explain the differences in your libraries?

      Paul,

Actually both the libraries have no Fill-In choices, my assumption is it is a bug, are you able to key the first letter of a choice and automatically bring up the choice in the dropdown in your environment, and I am not referring to typing here at all, just keying the first letter of a choice on the keyboard.

      Appreciate your time and response.

If I configure the choice column not to allow fill-in choices, I'm not able to type. Only a mouseclick or pressing <Enter> opens the list of available choices. I've tested in both Chrome and Edge, no difference here...
