Change SharePoint app landing page

As we have now made our intranet in to SharePoint, we have made the brower's default page go to the new homepage. However, when you click on the Office grid in the top left and click on SharePoin...

You can't modify default url for SharePoint tile. You can unpin SharePoint Tile from App Launcher and add your custom app tile with SharePoint homepage link and pin it to app launcher.

Is this still supported? I can create the links in the Admin center, but they tiles don't show up in my all apps or in the waffle.
