Cant share site
Hi, I created a communication site under SharePoint.
I initially could share the site but now I'm given this message: This site has unique permissions. To share the site, please visit Advanced permissions settings.
I am an owner of the site and a collection site administrator but I can't find what setting I must change to give my colleagues access to the site.
I was initially able to share the site and then was trying to find a way to stop showing the site contents and Page navigation so initially tried the 'stop inheriting permissions' on the Page one but deleted the unqiue permissions so it goes back to inheriting and instead added audience targeting on the site navigation. Even when i switch off audience targeting it doesnt work.
How do i share the site? and what unique permissions do i need to look into? Thanks in advance!
Hello Kelly_SD
check all the permissions on your site and all libraries and inherit the permissions. Check also the permissions under advanced permissions settings. Default permissions on a site looks like this:
Audiences are not permissions, it's only define, that you see an item/navigation or not...
To test: add your colleagues direct in the advanced permissions settings and give permissions direct to the user.

- Kelly_SDCopper ContributorSo strangely when I go into admin settings and add a member from the company they can share the site and have the button show up for them but I have to go into advanced permission settings to add someone. It was wokring initially and later changed so im not sure why that is.
