Cant see user permission through site permissions page

Our current SharePoint Site has custom permission level where folders have broken permission level and doesnot inherit from root. In order to find who can access, we click on "manage access" of single folder. This is fine when you need to see permission for each folder level but issue is, when you go to library settings and see permission of entire library, it doesnot show permissions correctly. Content owners doesnot have single view to see, who can access and who cannot. Even check user permission doesnot work correctly.

Wondering how you all do, when you have similar permission issues?

On another note, MS said, this is expected behavior and run report everytime to see permission about users. This solution is not friendly as there are some owners whos not technical to run such reports and some only have contribute right

Pls assist with your inputs. Thanks

  • Hello DaljitSaini

best way to that for users is to use third party solutions.

For technicals it's also possible to use PowerShell, or create reports with PowerShell, not really end-user friendly, or you have a lot of work to create nice reports, you can spare this time with a existing solutions.
