I've never seen O365 Groups work, but on-prem security Groups synced to O365 has worked. And now suddenly does not. I'll be submitting a ticket when I get a second, but currently have some higher priority issues and havent gotten a chance to track this one down.

MicrosoftRight, I was answering the specific question about O365 Groups. Regular security groups ought to work for this as far as I know.
