BUG: Site links in the header of news articles not correct for subsites.

Sub-sites to my knowledge aren't supported for hub sites, this is why your seeing the behavior. They were talking about possibly looking at some of this if they receive enough feedback, but Microsoft's direction is site collections as hub (sub) sites, sub-sites features aren't guaranteed when looking at modernUI related items.
Seems like it would be an easy enough fix to point to the right "web". I think when they implemented, they just missed this, so was hoping to bring it to their attention here.
