Bug or feature in list filtering?

When using the filtering pane in a SharePoint list person check boxes are automatically (de)selected. When I select myself as in the column Execution(person field) I am also automatically selected in the column Project Lead (person field). This does not happen when I select other people. However, when other people select themselves the same happens, it is somehow always both of nothing on the two different person fields. When I click on one of them the other is automatically (de)selected. Somehow the filtering pane won't let me select myself in just one column, for example if I want see projects where I am the Execution but not the Project Lead or the other way around. 

Is this a setting I can change somewhere or a bug?
