Aw Snap issue in Chrome
I have encountered this as well. It seems to be more Chrome than Microsoft issue. It happens with non-MIcrosoft services as well.
Anton Khritonenkov it is as when you upgrade to latest chrome the issue should be gone.

The issue for me started occuring for about 1.5 months ago. I opened a ticket with Premier and the crash dump was analzyed as a chrome memory issue.
My conclusion after 40+ hours of testing over a month+ in a SharePoint online tenant:
It appears the big change in Chrome 58 is it automatically migrates uses to the 64 bit chrome on windows:
- Windows users with a 64-bit OS and over 4GB of RAM will be automatically switched from 32-bit to 64-bit
- https://www.engadget.com/2017/05/02/google-chrome-will-automatically-migrate-to-64-bit-on-windows/
I was able to eventually recreate the issue on 64-bit Chrome 57 (one version down): 57.0.2987.133
As of yet, I am not able to recreate the issue on 32-bit Chrome 57: 57.0.2987.133
Options for management to consider:
- Asking Users To Refresh the page
- Asking Users To use Internet Explorer instead of Chrome
- Avoiding rolling out SharePoint Online until Chrome becomes more stable
- Do more testing to confirm Chrome 57+ 32 bit is stable
- Then downgrade all of our users browsers to a 32 bit version with NO updates
- Does prevent issues like this from re-appearing as testing can be done before a new browser version is released
If you can't recreate the issue now ... you're not clicking enough! It happens every 60-150 clicks. I can't beleive how unstable chrome is.
I was able to
- Uninstall chrome from add / remove programs
- Delete C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Local\Google
- Download an old version of chrome from here with updates disabled (v 57):

*The download runs an .exe so chrome isn't actually installed on the pc ...
