Applying Search Schema fails
Hi Jorn
There are currently some known issues with the search function, particularly with the mapping of crawled properties:
https://github.com/microsoft-search/pnp-modern-search/discussions/4946
We were able to perform the mappings using the following entry:
However, before we could use PowerShell, we had to map an existing SharePoint standard property; after that, PowerShell worked as well.

Hi DaveMehr365
Thanks for your answer!
This is a nice workaround for one of my other customers, but this case is something different than the issue you described.
At my customer, we use PnP XML provisioning template to create all the necessary search schema configurations. We choose to do this at site level, since we configured custom propertybags on this sharepoint site and couldn't find them in the admin center.
The issue we face now is that the "import" job of the search schema config, goes into timeout and then fails with the generic error "Service unavailable, please try again later".
Microsoft confirmed in our ticket that this is global issue and is being experienced in several tenants. Right now, we skip the search schema import but this has a huge "impact" for our customer. That is why we are trying to look for a workaround...
Microsoft told us that, they will need at least three months in order to have this issue fixed :/
Our customer is not satisfied with the fact that they have to wait so long for fix, since this is the basis if how they work everyday with our system...
