Adopt Modern Search or stay with Classic?
Hi Folks,
Reading up on the Ignite 2018 Search improvements, it all looks shiny ande useful for cross app searching, but if you are an organisation heavily invested in custom result pages / refiners / content search web parts to do 'things' or present content in your SharePoint Online sites, is it worth switching yet? Forgive me if I'm wrong, but can we make custom refiners or result sets yet in modern? I dont think we can? so my answer would be no for now? Or it could be adopt modern pages, but add app customizers to redirect modern search to classic?
Am I missing anything? Someone please enlighten me if I am. Thanks!
I've watched the Ignite sessions on Microsoft (Modern) Search and the presenter said it's on the road map. There was no mention of ETA, but to me it looks like they are in the early design stage. We could be waiting a while I fear.
