Adding a 'news story' is greyed out

Question

When adding a 'news story' webpart to the sharepoint home page the option to '+Add' is greyed out and I cannot add news.

I have tried this both on Chrome & Edge and this has not rectified the issue. Can anyone help please?

Sophiemeg&nbsp;When your page is in edit mode link is disabled. After you publish page, it should be enabled.

@Sophieme&nbsp;Not anyone, it depends on your permission settings. Default settings give Members and Owners edit permissions.
