Adding a 'news story' is greyed out

When adding a 'news story' webpart to the sharepoint home page the option to '+Add' is greyed out and I cannot add news. I have tried this both on Chrome & Edge and this has not rectified the issue....

Sophiemeg When your page is in edit mode link is disabled. After you publish page, it should be enabled.

    orchee Thanks, is the 'add' button only available for admins or anyone that visits the site

      @Sophieme Not anyone, it depends on your permission settings. Default settings give Members and Owners edit permissions.
