AD-groups (from Azure) in modern team sites

Is it possible to use AD-groups from HR-database via Azure in order to cover use-rights in modern team site? It´s important in a big organization where you need to use private team sites for more than 1000 members? Modern team sites use 365 groups, in which you can share things only for 1000 members. So, is it possible to use ad-groups 1) besides 365 group in modern team site and 2) can you use ad-groups inside of 365-group?

    My 2 cents here:
    1) You can only use Office 365 Groups when creating a modern team site
    2) No, you cannot
