Access Web Database exceeds 5000 items. Form doesn't function in SharePoint.

Hi everyone, I have a Access Web Database / SharePoint question.

I created an Access database that contains a big list of items. In this database, I created an interactive form. In this form, users have to select different options (or type in). The combination of the selections will return a filtered list (which the user can then edit or add information). This filtered list will never be bigger than 1500 items.

Now I want to publish this form on SharePoint (2010) as a web database, because it is much better when users can simply visit a website to use the form. It works, but only when the database table has less than 5000 items. As soon as the table has more, the form doesn't work and I receive the message "Failed to retrieve list data". Is there a solution how to solve this problem?

Thanks a lot!

I would skip the database altogether. Put the data in a SharePoint list and a custom form to filter the list. If you're on SP 2010, you could use InfoPath.
