"Access Denied" on page "auto refresh"

I am continually experiencing an very odd behavior.

I am on site page or on a settings (site/libray/list) the page auto-refreshes and I get an access denied message.

I believe i may be hitting the back button. I see the content page for a secod and then it refreshes and I see the access denied.
