Ability to change the description info of a text box within SharePoint Online

Hello,

Wondering if there is a way to change the description of a Column multi line text box pending on what is selected from a previous choice column?

example I have a Note (Multi line text box) and would like to have the description info change on what ever the previous choice item was selected.

I select Choice1  from the previous selection box selection then the description of the Notes displays Choice 1, I select Choice 2 from the previous selection box selection then the description of the Notes displays Choice 1, ect..

I haven't found anything relevant, thus I would ask the question if it's possible..

Thank you

  • rmckerral If you are talking about the column description under column settings (like given in below), it is not possible to change the description dynamically based on value of another column as it is just a static & plain text description:

    Possible Workarounds:

    1. Use JSON formatting to customize the list form header/footer to show the dynamic description, not possible below actual form field as form body does not support advanced customizations like header/footer. Check documentation: Configure the SharePoint list form
    2. Customize the list form using Power Apps and use Power Apps functions/formula to show the dynamic description in "label" control. Check: Customize a Microsoft Lists or SharePoint form by using Power Apps
