A new Date Navigator in my SharePoint Lists is making date-picking difficult for my users

Hi, I recently noticed the look of the date navigator in my lists has changed and (as well as it being incredibly ugly) it makes date-picking a bit of a chore for the users.

Here's what it looks like now:

The picker, itself, is laggy and doesn't allow users to jump between years. Instead they have to click through every month.

I've also noticed that when a date is picked, it doesn't save to the field until the users presses the Enter key. Until this, the date field shows the newly picked date but it isn't saved to the record which has been frustrating my users as there is no indication that this is happening until they come back to the item and see their changes weren't saved.

I'm using the New Experience so I wouldn't have expected this to be happening.

Has anyone noticed similar in their lists?
