widgets per day
Hello, I have a task to produce 1000 widgets, and I know that I can produce 10 widgets per day. Do I need to enter my duration as 1000 days and add a resource at 1000%, or is there a more intuitive way to enter my task duration based on widgets instead of days? The problem I have is that once I do this, the duration changes to 100 days, but now I have nothing to remind me that I need to produce 1000 widgets. Once things start changing, this is very difficult to keep track of. Is there a way to just enter total widgets, and add resources for widgets per day, and let Project calculate the duration?

Duration is the time span during which the work will take place on a task. In your scenario, the Duration would be 100 days. There is no way to enter the total number of widgets other than adding a note to the task. Assign the resource at 100%, assuming the resource must work full-time to complete the task. Hope this helps.
