What is first Remaining Work or Actual Fact in Assignment?
Hello.
If Resource write actuals with remaining work for timesheet, then Manager approve it.
What is first for assignment in Project Professional (Remaining Work or Actual Fact)?
wcdghvr This sounds like a highly customized solution. You are just going to have to do a lot of testing and see how MSP handles the updates. If you're not using MSP timesheets, I would avoid writing to the timesheet tables and focus on the assignments table. Good luck and have fun.

- If the manager approves the original update, then the updated actual progress and remaining work will be written into the Microsoft Project schedule. Any changes made by the resource to their timesheet AFTER this fact will remain in the timesheet, but not be reflected in the project. Hope this helps.
- wcdghvrCopper ContributorHello, Dale. But after manager approving in MS Project Professional we have task assignment for Enterprise resource. This assignment has Actuals hours by dates and Remaining Work. Project server first save Actuals hours by dates and then save Remaining Work on it business layer logic?
Or first save Remaining Work and then Actuals hours by dates?- Well, that is a good question. I cannot state with an absolute certainty that it applies the Actual Work by day first, and then it adjusts the Remaining Work. I know that when I enter actual progress on a task, that is how I do it. But I do not work for Microsoft and I am not a software developer, so I am only speculating. Out of curiosity, why are you asking this question?
