What is first Remaining Work or Actual Fact in Assignment?
Hello. If Resource write actuals with remaining work for timesheet, then Manager approve it. What is first for assignment in Project Professional (Remaining Work or Actual Fact)?
Hello, Dale. But after manager approving in MS Project Professional we have task assignment for Enterprise resource. This assignment has Actuals hours by dates and Remaining Work. Project server first save Actuals hours by dates and then save Remaining Work on it business layer logic?

Well, that is a good question. I cannot state with an absolute certainty that it applies the Actual Work by day first, and then it adjusts the Remaining Work. I know that when I enter actual progress on a task, that is how I do it. But I do not work for Microsoft and I am not a software developer, so I am only speculating. Out of curiosity, why are you asking this question?

wcdghvr Can you elaborate on why the order matters? Where are you pulling Remaining Work? Are you looking at the user's timesheet status, or the timesheet line status.
- Hello. Order matters because we have external Timesheet (not MS Project server real Timesheet). We are pulling Actual and Remaining Work to MS Project Professional client for Enterprise MS Project Server resource. Timesheet functions switched off on MS Project Server. I'm looking for timesheet line status. We need custom operations for it, just like native MS Project do it.
I create MS Project Professional Add-in and use RemainingWork in MSProject.Assignment, PjAssignmentTimescaledData.pjAssignmentTimescaledActualWork and PjAssignmentTimescaledData.pjAssignmentTimescaledActualOvertimeWork in MSProject.Assignment.TimeScaleData.
- I do not know of any way to get you a definitive answer to this question. Even though I am a Project MVP, I do not have access to the software developers who created this tool. Sorry, but hope this helps.
